From Krishangi-Lila Devi Dasi

Dear Srila Gurudeva! Please, accept my humble obeisances in the dust of Your lotus feet! All glories to Srila Prabhupada! Dear Srila Gurudev, I would like to express my deep gratitude to You and Srila Prabhupada. Thank You for showering mercy on me and accepting me as Your disciple. Without a spiritual master, we cannot progress in Krsna consciousness. yasya prasadad bhagavat-prasado. yasyaprasadan na gatih kuto ’pi. “By the mercy of the spiritual master one receives the benediction of Krishna. Without the grace of the spiritual master, one cannot make any advancement.“ Through the spiritual master we receive spiritual strength, thanks to which we have the determination to continue on the path to God. In the Muṇḍaka Upaniṣad it is said: tad-vijñānārthaṁ sa gurum. evābhigacchet. samit-pāṇiḥ śrotriyaṁ. brahma-niṣṭham. (MU 1.2.12) “To understand these things properly, one must humbly approach, with firewood in hand, a spiritual master who is learned in the Vedas and firmly devoted to the Absolute Truth.” Thanks to Srila Prabhupada, without whom Krishna Consciousness would not be available in Western countries. And it is only by the grace of Srila Prabhupada and the spiritual masters that we can make our attempts to chant the Holy Names of God. Unfortunately, I didn’t deserve the opportunity to be born during Srila Prabhupada’s time, but thanks to his disciples, thanks to You, this opportunity is real. You give us the love of Srila Prabhpada, You show a perfect example of service to the Vaisnavas and devotion to Your spiritual master and Sri Krishna. Thank you for this example! I often remember Your answer to my question, where You said that we can develop our relationships with a spiritual master at a distance through his books, lectures and kirtans. When it is not possible to follow You when You travel,I try to follow Your answer. It gives even more strength and faith when I try to present the fruits of my service to my spiritual master. How powerful is faith in our spiritual master! Due to my
ignorance, I don’t keep my promise to write to You, but I will try to correct it. Unfortunately, time does not stop and the years go by, I try to appreciate the opportunity to associate with senior devotees, especially with the disciples of Srila Prabhupada, because they are endowed with special grace, sensitivity and purity. We can learn from them and see a true example of selflessness, devotion and friendship. I would like to ask for Your blessings to never leave the association of devotees, to develop a taste for reading Srila Prabhupada’s books, and to remain always involved in kirtana. And the most important, I am begging for Your blessings to always remember the lotus feet of Radha Shyamasundara! Thank You for inspiring me with Your example every day, thank You for not stopping, but continuing to follow the instructions of Your spiritual master – to preach boldly! I wish You strength and health, may Lord Nrsimhadev always protect You on Your path! With deep gratitude, in an attempt to be Your disciple, Krishangi-lila dd.
