Dear Srila Gurudev,
Please accept my humble obeisances in the dust of Your lotus feet. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
On this auspicious day of Your Vyasa Puja I want to glorify You like Ananta Sesa, who glorifies Krsna with thousands of mouths. But this glorification will not be enough to show what You do for Srila Prabhupada’s mission. Continuous preaching tours around the world and revealing the greatest possibilities for preaching Krsna Consciousness. At the same time, you are not attached to Your body, although you have undergone a few severe operations.
As I look at this, I try to understand the power of the spiritual teacher’s blessings which help us to pass all the obstacles. Your selfless devotion to Srila Prabhupada is very inspiring. You show us, your disciples, that Your life is the path of devotion to the spiritual teacher. Now is the time that everyone is absorbed in information, entangled in the gunas of material nature. However, Srila Prabhupada gave us a true way to free from this trap, and to start changing our hearts.
Srila Gurudev, you constantly inspire disciples to improve, to not stay at one place, to constantly deepen their understanding of spiritual practice, to deepen their relationship with the Holy Name and Krsna. This year during the pandemic Your compassion for all you disciples manifested again. When I listen to your webinars from Vrindavan, I forget about the pandemic and my fears. My consciousness would transfer to another reality, calmness and strong faith in Krsna would appear inside of me. As Krsna says to Arjuna in Bhagavad Gita [18.58]: “If You become conscious of Me, you will pass over all the obstacles of conditioned life by my grace. If, however, you do not work in such consciousness but act through false ego, not hearing Me, you will be lost.”
It is impossible to enter into spiritual reality without a teacher, and the teacher pours mercy on his disciples and keenly guides them to the purpose of life. Our spiritual practice is a manifestation of mercy. So I beg you for mercy. I have neither qualities nor piety, but I am just trying to grasp your instructions, kirtans, your love for Vrindavan and Srila Prabhupada. Please, lead me on this path, help me to overcome all the challenges and obstacles. Every drop of your grace is a real jewel.
Your servant, Somaditya dasi
