Dear Srila Gurudev!
Hare Krsna! Please accept my humble obeisances in the dust of your lotus feet. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
In honor of your Vyasa Puja, I want to try to put into words the changes that have occurred in my life over the past year. I do not yet have a clear understanding of spiritual life, and my relationship with you is only just beginning to emerge. But due to the opportunity to observe your activities and behavior, thanks to your lectures and memories of Srila Prabhupada that you share, this year I became a little more serious and conscious in the practice of Krishna consciousness.
I am very inspired by your example of a preacher and devotee. Your endless preaching enthusiasm is amazing. Receiving the communication of your disciples, the scale of your personality, your devotion to Srila Prabhupada, your depth of relationship with Srila Prabhupada is gradually revealed to me. And the stories from your life that you describe in your diaries show me an amazing living example of Krishna’s words: “As all surrender unto Me, I reward them accordingly.”
Over the past year, the qualities of my character have changed significantly. This happened thanks to your personal intervention. I don’t know why you decided to shed such mercy on me, but it completely changed my life. I became less angry and more tolerant, I began to have an understanding of what kind of service I can perform, in accordance with my state of health and abilities. I began to really look at my possibilities and motives in devotional service. I saw especially vividly that my motives in devotional service turned out to be mostly false. It was an unpleasant discovery, but very useful, like a bitter medicine that helps me get on my feet. Looking back at the past year and the changes that have occurred in me, I very clearly see that all this happened only due to serving you, cooperation with your disciples, thanks to your personal presence in my life, thanks to your personal approach even to those who are just getting ready to take refuge with you.
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude from myself and on behalf of my fiancé, Ravindra Das. Thanks to you, our path in Krsna consciousness continues and continues to gain depth.
On this day, I would like to ask you for a blessing to have full and unshakable faith in Srila Prabhupada and the same faith in the scriptures. I am sure that you have such faith. Otherwise, it is impossible to explain your endless enthusiasm in serving Srila Prabhupada and spreading the message of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu.
I do not know what I could wish you on the day of your Vyasa Puja. I feel small and insignificant next to you and Srila Prabhupada. I hope that Krishna will send you many years of life and active preaching, serious and grateful disciples. I pray about it today.
