2023-offerings-public

From Brigitta Nagy – Hungary

Dear Srila Gurudeva,
Please accept my respectful obeisances.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
All glories to you on your appearance day.
This exceptional opportunity occurs only once each year when your disciples and well-wishers glorify you on your Vyasa-puja. I feel embarrassed to admit that even though I’ve known you for 31 years, this is my first attempt to write an offering to you. “By the mercy of the spiritual master one receives the benediction of Krishna. Without the grace of the spiritual master, one cannot make any advancement. Therefore, I should always remember and praise the spiritual master. At least three times a day I should offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of my spiritual master.” The reason I have probably
not yet written an offering to you is because I fail to understand the true meaning of this verse. Krishna can only be approached and understood through a bonafide spiritual master, like yourself, Srila Gurudeva.
Everyone who meets you, considers themselves very fortunate. I know this fact for sure. Meeting you and conversing with you are experiences one cannot forget. Hearts become captured forever. Just like the participants at the Polish Festival, who eagerly await your arrival so they could hear about Krishna, devotional service and the spiritual world, in your unique unparalleled style. I feel so attracted to this unique way by which you preach to the fallen souls at different festivals.
I met you in 1992 in Szolnok, at one such festival which has been a defining point in my life: the way you shared with hundreds of young people pure love to Krishna. And you haven been doing the same ever since, with the same enthusiasm, organizing festivals, chant and share the Holy Names of Krishna. Now I know that you are following the instructions and direction of your beloved spiritual master, Srila Prabhupada, and you wish to please him by connecting all these souls to Krishna. When I learnt about the deterioration of your health, I assumed you’ll take a break and recuperate, but you continued with the same vigour and enthusiasm. You didn’t take your health as a valid factor to rest and take a break from sharing the Holy Names with others. To ordinary people, like me, this is inconceivable. Inconceivable
that you have this much faith in your spiritual master that you would never, not even for a second, forget or fail to follow his teachings. This makes me wonder how very pleased Srila Prabhupada must be to have a disciple like you.
Dear Srila Gurudeva, my wish for you and for the conditioned souls is that you stay with us for a very long time to come and that you keep chanting the holy names in your unique and unparalleled style.
Happy Birthday!
Your humble servant,
Brigitta Nagy
