From Kumari Sri Devi Dasi – Hungary
Dear Srila Gurudeva,
Please accept my respectful obeisances.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada. All glories to you.
I’m very grateful to be able to greet you again on your birthday. It brings me much joy and happiness each year to be able to do so. I’ve known you for over 30 years. When we met, you’re younger than I am now. Even then, when we first met, I was determined to follow you. You are the person whose every word and action are exemplary. Thank you for showing the way and for guiding me in all aspects of my life. Regardless of what happens in my life, I can always find shelter with you, through your bhajans, lectures, diary entries or looking at the photos you share. I know that you’re the only fix point in my life. Right at this moment, I’m also experiencing some low points in my personal life. My mother has severe dementia. A couple of years ago I noticed how she’s gradually losing her cognitive abilities. Yet when the official diagnosis came, I was confused and scared of what the future might hold. Will I lose my mother before she dies? Not long after, I’ve realised that my father also has dementia. I became emotionally unsettled. Luckily soon after, I was able to gain strength by trying to connect with you and I could instantly feel the spiritual strength. Despite the fact that I can foresee the difficulties coming and losing my connection and relationship with my parents, I feel consoled because I can be sure of your protection and that I won’t be an orphan as you’re my spiritual father. Please never let go of my hand, because without you, I’ll lose the ground from under my feet. Thank you for accepting me as one into your spiritual family of
thousands and giving me wonderful Godsiblings. You’re my loving family. I wish to serve you and my siblings forever. Thank you for everything with all the love and gratitude from the bottom of my heart.
Your eternal servant,
Kumari Sri Devi Dasi
